I love the Orff method because of its emphasis on inclusivity and variety of learning strategies. I believe that its strong focus on integrating music, movement, and speech helps my students become well rounded in their ability to interpret and express through music.
I believe that in elementary music education, we should be ultimately focused on teaching our students to enjoy and interact with music in new ways that they previously haven't. Students should be able to feel and dance with music as well as improvise their own melodies and movements to go along.
For this assignment, I did a reading of The Dance of Violin by Kathy Stinson and Dusan Petricic.
